Formula for conversion of leak rates

For most practical cases the leak rate limits are within the laminar flow region
(qL > 10-6 mbar · 1/s) Conversion can be calculated:

qL: leak rate
pi: pressure inside (absolute)
pa: pressure outside (absolute)
η: viscosity

Experiments show that this formula gives good results for the conversion of gas-gas leak rates. For the conversion of liquid-gas or inverse this theory gives no good results for very small leaks and can be used only for rough calculation.
